Old cities have distinct culture significance that is rooted in their fabric, settings, plan, associations, use, people, meanings,…etc. Rehabilitation and revitalization strategies should maintain that urban tissue and essential historic qualities the city offers including the quality of life of the communities residing within, while adapting its structure and activities to current requirements.

Between authenticity and relevance, it is crucial to consider all the dimensions of revitalization, physical, social and economic in the process Happy City Theory illustrates interconnected ecosystems that form a city dimensions, by applying these measures on a city or community, you can extract cues that can be developed into strategies enabling city governments and local authorities to address a certain issue or enhance the life quality of a district and a city. We developed the happy city theory in the innovation lab in Dubai and we are helping cities to reevaluate their communities considering the rapid change It was privilege discussing those topics among others with the deputy mayor GIORGIO ANGIUS in Cagliari, during my last year visit to Sardinia, followed by a lecture at the architecture school at the city university. That visit brought to me lots of memories in Damascus city, where old and new meets at the center of the oldest capital in the world
